Sailing on beautiful San Francisco Harbor is tough to beat. The J fleet is large and active in San Francisco. The Escaped Aussies chartered a J80 from JWorld San Francisco and had a great experience. The party scene is there, but most everyone is local – but you do have the entire city at your fingertips. Jfest regattas in general are great – One design racing with good local club sponsorship. Sailing Conditions on San Francisco harbor are always great and Racing Quality in San Francisco’s J fleet is excellent. The J80 fleet was more sparse but had several excellent boats.
Special thanks to the organizing committee at Encinal that embraced SailStrong and made it a great success. Chartering from any JSchool is a good experience, in particular thanks to Wayne Zittel where we chartered a great J80 at a very reasonable price.
